Annual Membership Meeting
The Frontiers Annual Meeting was held on March 2, 2008 at the West Side Club. Nineteen members were present
and enjoyed a fabulous brunch buffet that was partially subsidized by the club. The Treasurer reported that
the treasury was still solvent, but it was down from the previous year. One of the biggest expenses was the
monthly newsletter. The membership numbers are also down somewhat. The President reported that Frontiers had
sponsored one or more educational or social events every month of 2007. Some of these attracted many members
and friends, but some others were not so well attended.
The membership then approved a Resolution that had been proposed by the Board. The effect of this will be:
- members having current e-mail addresses will receive monthly communications by e-mail
- traditional events such as Film Circle and holiday parties will continue to be supported as long as hosts can be recruited
- contributions at the parties will be solicited
Finally, the election for members to the Board of Directors was held. Bob D. was unanimously re-elected to a two-year term, and
Jeff L., Jim D., Bill S. and Larry K. will continue for another year of service to the club. Rich F. and David S. had decided to
retire from the Board, and we thank them very much for their faithful service in the capacities of Treasurer and Newsletter Editor.
After the meeting of the membership was adjourned, the newly seated Board of Directors held a short meeting to select the officers.
- Jeff will continue another year as President
- Bill will act as Vice President
- Bob will be the Treasurer
- Jim will be Secretary
- Larry will continue on as Membership Coordinator
We wish to thank all of you who have participated on the Board, and as event hosts, and also to those who particpate in the
club's activities. We hope to see you all in the near future at one or more of the club's activities.
