Wisconsin Capitol Pride (WCP) is proud to announce that our 2010 PRIDE Festival will be held August 20-22nd. The 2010 Pride Festival will be held Saturday, August 21st on Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center. The Pride Festival will celebrate the diverse LGBT community in Dane County and Greater Wisconsin and will feature various events ranging from live concerts, to contests as well as community and family-oriented activities.

The 2010 Pride Festival, which will commence on Saturday, August 20th from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm, and will feature performances by Goddess and She, Dot Dot Dot, and Tuo Tuo as well as an all-star lineup of other acts. Admission will be $8 pre-sale / $10 at the gate.

The focal point of Sunday, August 22nd activities will be a Pride parade, beginning at 1 pm that will circle Madison’s Capital Square, and end with a Rally on Library Mall.

Join us for a great evening of schmoozing in the glass lobby of the MMoCA, grand entrances by the King & Queen of Pride, the Hostess of the Pride Parade, and the Parade Marshalls. Hosted by the GLBT Alumni Council of the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

Pride Kickoff Party
9:00 pm at Club 5.
Show featuring performers from around the state and RuPauls Drag Race Contestants from Season 2. Followed by DJ Randy Bettis and the GAY DAYS national touring company to kick our Pride off in Madison.

Spit & Seamen Cruise III
10:30 p.m. WOOF'S
Set sail on lake Monona with the men of WOOF’S. $40 includes cruise, beer and snacks, music and FREE DRINK coupon for after party at WOOF’S!

Health & Fitness Area
This area will include many community groups demonstrating their value to our community, from wellness tent with AIDS network and others. Fitness area is including volleyball games, rugby demonstration, and kayaking demonstrations.

Madison GLBT Legacy Tent
This tent will feature displays showing the GLBTQ timeline of people and places that affected our community throughout the years. We will also have a viewing area of various videos of past marches and prides and an opportunity for participants to present their own perspective for future viewers through written or taped contributions.

Around the Grounds
Various balloon artist, jugglers, magicians, yoga folks, drum circles, hula hooping, face painters, stilt walkers, minstrels, giant puppets, belly dancers, and hula dancers will be traversing the grounds. Costumed characters will be available to be photographed with festival-goers.

Will be closing the island at 10:30 p.m. (Entertainment acts are subject to change, please check often to catch your favorite act)

AWOL Party
10pm – close WOOF'S
GO AWOL and celebrate. Special Guest DJ, GO-GO MEN, Drink specials, Fun!

Club 5
Ride the bus to Club 5 for a night of DJ a’ GoGo. Resident and guest DJ’s rotate both dance areas all night and the club will be overflowed with GOGO dancers all night long throughout the venue.

Sunday, August 22

Big Gay Brunch
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at various downtown restaurants

Tea Party!
10:00am WOOF'S. Open Before and after Parade

Parade
1:00 p.m. at the Capitol Square
Starts at Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., circles the square and proceeds down State Street to Library Mall/Fountain area.

Contests: Best Proud Float / Best Connected Float / Best Visible Float.
Volunteers will encourage on-lookers to march at the end of the parade down State Street to Library Mall for the rally and entertainment.

Assembly for the parade starts at 12 noon.

The parade will be televised on WYOU.

Rally
2:00–5:00 p.m. VO5 Disco/funk band

Pride Beer Bash and 12th Annual Club 5 Pride Customer Appreciation Picnic
6:00 pm at Club 5. Featuring Free Food and Live Entertainment. JOSIE LYNN’s Annual Pride Drag Show featuring statewide performers begins at 10pm.
